The ideal basic unit of society is the home and family, where women play a vital and definitive role. Furthermore, as natural providers of hope, women play an important part in shaping society. Therefore any fellowship of women in which Christian influence is exerted and practical help given benefits not only the individual and the family, but also the nation. Women’s Ministries provide a programme of meetings and other activities based on the fourfold aim of the Army’s international women’s organisation, the Home League, which was inaugurated in 1907. The aims are worship, education, fellowship and service.
The mission of Women’s Ministries is to:
- bring women into a knowledge of Jesus Christ
- encourage their full potential in influencing family, friends and community
- equip them for growth in personal understanding and life skills
- address issues which affect women and their families in the world
Indeed, the motto of the Home League is: ‘I will live a pure life in my house ...’ (Psalm 101:2b, GNB)
A Message from the Territorial President Of Women's Ministries
We would like to welcome you to the Caribbean Women’s Ministries Home page.
We create this vivacious site to assist you in meeting women’s need without discrimination. The Salvation Army recognizes that Women play a vital role in society through their influence in the home, family and the community. So our programs are made merely to target the fundamental needs of women. Our ultimate goal is to win women and their families for Christ. We encourage spiritual growth, and foster purposeful Christian life. We also have a burning desire to reach out to the younger generation of women.
King David said in Psalms 78:4: “We will not hide them from their descendants; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD, his power, and the wonders he has done.” Please help us to reach this goal, first by making program that adapt to reach, and transform the younger generation. (I am not suggesting the message of the Lord Jesus Christ should altered change) But the methods, the approach that we use to get the message out should modify.
I appeal to you to frequently visit this page and give us your ideas. May the Lord bless you abundantly.
